Michigan RV sales & national shipments reveal positive signs for 2012

Shipments of RV rose by about ten percent through 1st quarter in 2012 from the year 2011. RVIA or Recreation Vehicle Industry Association says that the whole sale shipments for retailers in 1st quarter of 2012 had reached about 71,400 units, which is gain of about 9.7 percent over same period of.

The whole sale shipments for retailers in the month of March had reached about 28,100 units – which is best March total since the year 2008. For the month of February, manufacturers had shipped about 24,600 units, giving this industry the best performance for the 2 months since the year 2008. The shipments for the year 2012 are now projected to go up by five percent from the year 2011.

For Michigan, the first quarter of 2012 sales of RV are up by 18 percent from 1st quarter of the year 2011. MARVAC Michigan Association RVs & Campgrounds is predicting that the sales of RV in the year 2012 will only continue to go up. MARVAC is sponsoring 4 of the RV shows every year & Bill Sheffer, the Director reported that the spring shows of RV were attended well & participating dealers had reported a lot of positive comments from the potential buyers of RV. A lot of show visitors had commented saying they would make commitment for purchasing new RV in this year. Till now, statistics from 1st part of the year 2012 are now proving this to be very true.

There are also some mix-&-match options which are mostly found only for the luxury high-end RVs. Manufacturers are making the RVs which are a bit lighter, smaller, & more efficient in energy consumption for helping the ones who are seeking models that are budget friendly.

RVs of today’s are outfitted along with more of functionality & smarter technology, offering gourmet & outdoor kitchens, bigger bathrooms, expandable plans of floor & layouts, & electronics that are state-of- the-art. Manufacturers are utilizing the green technologies for minimizing the consumption of energy.

MARVAC or Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds is non-profit, state wide organization which is dedicated for encouraging some growth in RV or recreation vehicle & private camp ground industries and they also contribute to quality at Michigan tourism.
